Contribution Policy

Overview

Thank you for your interest in supporting Gary Cordery for Governor. Your contributions help us build a grassroots movement for change in Hawaii. Please review this policy carefully before making a contribution.

Contribution Limits

Contributions to Gary Cordery for Governor are subject to the following limits under Hawaii state law:

• Individuals may contribute up to $6,000 per election cycle
• Political action committees (PACs) may contribute up to $6,000 per election cycle
• Corporations and labor unions are prohibited from making direct contributions

Note: Contribution limits are subject to change. Please verify current limits with the Hawaii Campaign Spending Commission.

Who Can Contribute

To make a contribution, you must be:

• A U.S. citizen or lawfully admitted permanent resident
• Making the contribution from your own funds (not on behalf of another person or entity)
• Not a foreign national
• Not a federal contractor

Prohibited Contributions

The following contributions are prohibited:

• Contributions from corporations or labor unions
• Contributions from foreign nationals
• Contributions made in the name of another person
• Contributions from federal contractors
• Cash contributions exceeding $100

Reporting Requirements

Federal and state law requires us to collect and report the following information for contributions exceeding $200 in an election cycle:

• Full name
• Mailing address
• Occupation
• Employer name

This information will be reported to the Hawaii Campaign Spending Commission and may become part of the public record.

Tax Deductibility

Contributions to political campaigns are NOT tax-deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes.

Refund Policy

Contributions are generally non-refundable. However, we may issue refunds in the following circumstances:

• The contribution exceeds legal limits
• The contribution is from a prohibited source
• The contribution was made in error or without authorization
• The campaign determines the contribution cannot be legally accepted

Refund requests must be made in writing to [email protected] within 30 days of the contribution.

Recurring Contributions

If you opt for recurring contributions, you authorize us to charge your payment method at the specified frequency (monthly, quarterly, etc.) until you cancel. You may cancel recurring contributions at any time by contacting us at [email protected].

Payment Processing

Contributions are processed securely through our payment processor. We do not store your full credit card information on our servers. By making a contribution, you agree to our payment processor's terms of service.

Acknowledgment

By making a contribution, you certify that:

• You are a U.S. citizen or lawfully admitted permanent resident
• This contribution is made from your own funds and not on behalf of another
• You are not a foreign national, federal contractor, or prohibited source
• You understand that contributions are not tax-deductible
• You have read and agree to this Contribution Policy
